Magic grout pen

I would like to talk about a simple trick to make my bathroom and kitchen look brand new, it was a perfect experience. I saved a lot of time and money.

It all started with the bathroom. I was frustrated with how old and outdated it looked and started looking for a renter friendly and inexpensive solution. A friend recommended this grout pen and I thought I would give it a try.

It is vital that you scrub the floor with a mould inhibitor before applying any type of grout coating. I noticed that the building was built almost 100 years ago. I don't know when the bathroom was completed but judging by the shape of the red tiles on the walls and bathtub area, it is safe to assume it has been there for some time. I had the best results using an old toothbrush as a scrubbing agent. It was a real Cinderella before the ball kind of moment.

When I'm done cleaning, dealing with the gaps between the wall tiles is a great way to further complete the decor. I use a grout pen to colour in. It really is as easy as colouring in the lines. The pack recommended two coats and I definitely found this to be true. It dried quickly, but I waited overnight to do the second coat.

Luckily, my bathroom was completed without incident. The exact same process follows. First clean with a toothbrush (or similar brush). Then colour in with your grout pens. This kitchen grout was so dirty that I couldn't even find patches that hinted at the original grout colour. I had already taken a leftover pen out of the bathroom, so I opted for grout pen white. It turned out perfectly too, in fact, my kitchen looks fantastic.

grout pens for tiles are a great way to help with renovations and if you want to save time and money, this is a great way to do it. My kitchen and bathroom now look fantastic. Anyone who is keen on diy should give it a try.
